PRACTICE WITH ME
Why practice yoga?
Yoga is not part of any religion. It is an ancient, spiritual path to achieve inner well being by melding the body, mind, and spirit into one. The word ‘Yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’, meaning ‘to join’ or ‘to yoke’ or ‘to unite’. It is about cultivating inner awareness and balance, with the ultimate aim to find true liberation and enlightenment. Liberation from the trivial and shallow, rising above the trap of modern society and materialism, to realize that we are all one. That I am not separate from you, nor separate from the trees, or the very universe that surrounds us. Understanding this connection and experiencing this oneness is the true purpose of yoga.
A common misconception is that yoga is simply a stretching exercise, but it is so much more than that! Moving through the physical postures improves flexibility and balance, and strengthens the muscles and joints. This movement encourages blood circulation and lymph drainage, thereby building a stronger immune system. A regular practice helps to relieve stress, boosts feelings of peace and happiness, and helps with mental focus. Many practitioners report improvements in their sleep and breathing and their digestion. And moving beyond the physical benefits, yoga teaches inner strength and fortitude: the ability to trust oneself and build space and awareness for inner transformation.
My Teaching Style
The best part about teaching yoga is sharing this practice with others. Being a guide, honoring where my students are in their individual journeys, and celebrating their growth are the most rewarding things about teaching. It’s the feeling when a pose no longer feels like a struggle, and instead you can easily relax deeper into it, finding a sense of freedom and liberation. Or when you surprise yourself by being able to easily get into a pose that you once thought was impossible. Finding freedom, strength, and stillness in movement and breath is a cornerstone of my own practice and what I bring to all my classes.
The path of yoga is unique to each individual. Everyone starts out at a different point in their journey and brings their own unique experiences, insights, and obstacles with them to the mat. I work with my students to tailor our sessions to their individual needs and goals. Whether that is finding deeper flexibility, mastering a particular pose, or incorporating yogic philosophy into their practice and daily lives, my aim as a yoga instructor is to be present for my students and provide them with what they need to further their practice in whatever direction they choose.
Practice with Me
If you are ready to take the next step in your yoga journey, connect with me for a free consultation where we can discuss your goals, experience level, and how I can best guide you in your practice.
I offer both one-on-one and small group sessions from my home studio in Long Beach, CA or from a location of your choice. Private sessions are great for beginners who are just starting their yoga journey as more time and attention can be spent on developing a strong foundation compared to large group classes, or for those who are more experienced and want to deepen their practice. All class sequences we work on will be shared with you and I offer guidance on structuring sequences to compose your own flows.

I have had the pleasure of practicing yoga under the the guidance of Kiran since 2018. I can honestly say that Kiran helps me grow in my practice with every session.
We have practiced together in many locations: The beach, city and community parks, friend’s homes, hilltops. Each location has made my practice richer, more adventurous and peaceful. I’m so grateful to her for her generosity and the integrity she brings to the mat and to the practice.
