I was never the strong, athletic type, but something clicked after my first yoga class. I was calm and at ease in my body. And what’s more, I felt strong and capable.
This practice brought me so much joy and calm, that I wanted to share it with everyone.
After a few years, I decided to fully commit to the yogic path and traveled to India to complete my yoga teacher training in 2018. I trained at Chin May Yoga in Dharamsala in the foothills of the Himalayas, where I practiced in the Hatha and Ashtanga styles of yoga and learned meditation, pranayama, and anatomy. And I have been teaching yoga ever since.
Through yoga, I discovered strength and flexibility I never dreamed I was capable of. With consistency and dedication, I was able to seamlessly move through postures that were inaccessible to me before. By surrendering to the process, I realized I didn’t have to constantly push and force, things would just naturally unfold.
Yoga has taught me acceptance, mindfulness, and above all a sense of connection – between breath and movement, between mind and body, and ultimately between the individual and the world all around.
It is this sense of deep connection that I bring into my classes. My classes and sessions are vinyasa-based and emphasize slow, purposeful movements while connecting each breath to movement. Students have the time and space to observe how they are feeling in their body, and how they can move deeper into their practice, both physically and mentally, at their own pace, and as their body allows.
I am currently based in Southern California where I teach private and group yoga classes. When I am not teaching or working, I enjoy exploring the natural world, gardening, and handcrafting natural soaps and lotions.
